The Consultant
Kay Mohlman’s work as a writing consultant includes one-to-one work with professional academics and workshops with graduate students to enhance clients’ writing fluency, productivity, and competence in academic English. She conducts a yearly eight-week series on academic writing and conference presentations for international graduate students affiliated with the ASEAN Scholars Programme at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore.
A sociologist by training, Dr. Mohlman has taught at in the sociology departments of the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. Prior to launching The Writing Practice, she edited manuscripts of academic colleagues and did freelance work for NUS press. She holds a Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA) from the British Council, and is a native English speaker.
